Greetings, friends,
On this first day of Advent, Henri Nouwen encourgaes us to watch for the small signs of God's action in our lives. One extra thought I'd like to offer to our readings for today...let's use both our memories of things past AND our imaginiations of thing to come to see those small things. What small grace do you recall? What small gift do you imagine tomorrow might hold? Blessings,
Tim+
God awakened me to Christ's coming through a gift given to me and for me at the Essentials Pantry. Stacy and I were asked to outreach a new family in great need. The father said that if they paid all their expenses for the month there would be no Christmas for his wife and 3 month old child. Been there, done that. So it became obvious to Stacy and me that we needed to pay it forward. The coming of the Christ child gives us all the opportunity to do small things and receive bigger things back. We may never know the impact of giving the gift of joy and necessity. It really doesn't matter. Christmas has already arrived we just need to imagine how the family might respond to the everlasting joy that overcomes us all during this time of anticipation and blessing from the unknown and the knowing God.
